A disbarred lawyer and a former Democratic congressional candidate has been discovered responsible of stealing $275,000 from a former consumer who had suffered a traumatic mind damage.

Former lawyer Justin P. Nadeau was convicted of convincing his former consumer, who was mentally incapacitated, to offer him $275,000 in loans, in line with an April 1 press release from the New Hampshire Division of Justice.

To hide his misconduct, Nadeau produced false digital file metadata, fabricated paperwork and cast a signature. The New Hampshire Legal professional Self-discipline Workplace’s skilled conduct committee oversaw an ethics investigation into the case.

“It’s tough for me to think about one thing worse for a lawyer to do,” one committee member stated, in line with courtroom data and coverage by the NH Journal.

Nadeau was discovered responsible of theft by deception, monetary exploitation of an impaired grownup, forgery and falsifying bodily proof. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in June.
